Moving Beyond: A Recorded Series of Special Topics in Victim Advocacy provides advocates an opportunity for online learning with experts in the child abuse field on these four special topics. The recording trainings are 60-90 minutes that you can watch at your own pace, review the included resources, and download a certificate upon completion of the evaluation.

Building Caregiver Resilience using the Strengthening Families Protective Framework and the Impact of Domestic Violence on Children and Families served at CACs will meet two of the new training requirements for victim advocates as outlined in the 2023 National Children's Alliance Standards for Accredited Members.

The Advocates Role in Screening and Assessment: Leaning into Powerful Questions

Screening vs. Assessment may cause confusion among advocates. This training will outline the difference between screening and assessment, along with common tools used for screening and those used for assessment. Participants will develop the skill of asking powerful questions to lead to reflection and perspective building. Powerful questions help to facilitate conversations that are rooted in exploration and possibility.

Victim AdvoCAN: Victim Advocates and Support for Families of Children with Problematic Sexual Behavior

This presentation will provide victim advocates with foundational evidence-based information on children with problematic sexual behavior and their families and identify strategies for how they can contribute to the successful outcomes of these cases.
